Just done week one, and have some observations. First... I'm weak as shit!! Second.. apart from tensing the core to stabilise movement, there is no ab work and I already feel my lower back taking the strain after the extensions with no direct counter to that movement on the front. Third... Maybe just because I'm weak and new to this structure, but I felt day three was so tricep-heavy - so much so that when I got to the final tricep extensions they were absolutely fried. Otherwise, really quick and easy in the gym to complete

Joe Delaney didn’t do OMAD properly. Jumping right into one meal per day like that will cause all the issues he experienced. OMAD is extremely beneficial for those with meatabolic syndrome, and maybe not so optimal for those prioritizing gains and performance. Even, Greg Plitt supplemented his pre and post workout outside of his one solid food meal per day to fuel his performance and training.

option 2 is the best, in my opinion. option 1 isn't sustainable longterm, as your body will adapt. guys who try this method end up eating 600-1000 calories to make progress after plateaus. option 1 is also bad since most guys will be doing high intensity training, which will leave them starving. option 2 lets you keep the same caloric intake throughout the whole journey, and all you have to do is increase your steps when you plateau. walking after each meal is a good way to knock steps out, and walking in general will not cause hunger. i've lost 40lbs on option 2 and never felt hungry while doing it

A couple of extra info that might be useful * Starting from a bulk is definitely better as having muscle mass will increase your calorie maintenance level, so you won't have to reduce food intake as much on a cut. * You mentioned this, but activity level is great on a cut. Food is necessary, and if you have to eat so little to lose weight that you end up with health problems its not worth it, and likely indicates you need to move more. * Speaking of, general activity is far easier and more efficient at burning calories than cardio. A 30 minute run is great for your health, but is much harder to implement into your lifestyle than taking the stairs and walking more. * Eating a higher volume of food in the form of fiber will both keep you full on a cutting diet, but will also burn more calories being moved through your digestive system. Fiber is good. * You will immediately lose a chunk of weight and muscle mass when switching to a calorie deficit, as your body will stop storing excess calories as glycogen in your muscles, leading to less water retention in the muscles. This is a good sign but is demoralizing * Going to the gym after switching from a bulk to a cut will be also be demoralizing, as you will be tired more and will immediately notice the lifts being more difficult

for anyone making the chicken you'll still want to flip it even if your oven cooks thoroughly. The neglected underside really misses out on the flavor from the marinade and the slight wetness isn't very pleasant compared to a properly coated piece that's drier. I opted to use chili paste instead of fresh and found you'll probably want more than you think you'll need. When I tasted a bit of the marinade I noticed the spice, but it didn't translate to much after everything was cooked.

I agree with everything except the side leg presses. I usually do one set with toes pointed forward, then shift to my side and press with toes pointed 11 or 1 o'clock. It totally blasts my outer sweep and glute medius. It's also a way superior and safer replacement for ballerina lunges or whatever they are called. For my body that makes a huge difference

I think a lot of people get too hung up on their age and think - am I too old for this? For me - I smoked cigarettes from the age of about 14 to the age of 34, then to try to reverse some of that damage started cycling in my late 30s. I lost excess weight at that time plus was eventually able to ride 200+km days through the mountains by my early 40's, as well as commuting 50ks per day to and from work. I've now been hitting the gym since last November (age 49) and have cut about 10kgs of body fat and defined what muscle I had to start with. I'm now about to embark on a bulk for the next 6 months, followed by another cut with the aim of being bigger and better by my 50th birthday. I can honestly say I am way fitter and healthier now that I ever was in my 20's. So don't get too hung up about being "too old" for something in your 30s, it's just a number. I'm looking forward to what results you get from this latest bulk you're on.

This is pure gold, all you need to know in 12 minutes. Took me 15 years to understand this. One thing that I have had success with is alternating between strength focus (low reps, high weight) and hypertrophy (medium reps, high volume). Curious what @JoeDelaneyy has to say about that approach?
